Contest Win tickets and an Amtrak Hiawatha trip for Aesop Rock in Chicago, plus a CD from the Exclusive Company

Each month, The Onion and The A.V. Club will send one lucky winner and a friend to a concert in Chicago, along with a pair of roundtrip Amtrak Hiawatha tickets. For June, we’re giving away tickets to check out alt-hip-hop MC Aesop Rock at the Metro July 28.

El-P’s Definitive Jux, arguably one of the most vital labels from the hip-hop underground, may be on indefinite hiatus, but flagship artist Aesop Rock is definitely not. None Shall Pass, his 2007 effort, was a record of warp-speed rhymes and a Shakespearean jester’s mix of self-deprecation and incisive urgency. Rock spent the next few year working on other people’s projects, including lending verses to nearly half of Kimya Dawson’s Thunder Thighs. That album—whose first single, “Miami Advice,” featured Rock carrying the disarmingly twee anti-folk song to a rousing, choir-backed close—sprang enough material for another album. Fans waiting for a new full-length album from Rock himself need only wait until July 10, when Skelethon is officially released.

In addition to the train and concert tickets, the winner will take home a copy of Skelethon, courtesy of The Exclusive Company. What do you need to do win? Just send an email to rsvpmilwaukee@theonion.com with “Aesop Rock” in the subject line. Could it get any easier? (No.) Good luck!
