Not content to merely collaborate on an infinite string of Expendables movies with other aging action heroes—and a few new ones—Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger have teamed up outside of that series for an action film as dual leads. Stallone plays a professional prison breaker who gets thrown in the most secure prison imaginable on a setup, while Arnold is a fellow prisoner looking for a way out by any means necessary. With a supporting cast including Jim Caviezel, 50 Cent, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Amy Ryan, this is yet another instance where two aging action-movie legends throw caution to the wind for explosions and fight scenes—and the film landed both stars in the same hospital for shoulder surgery following principal photography.
Escape Plan opens in Milwaukee on Friday, October 18, but we’ve got passes to an early screening on Tuesday, October 15 at 7 p.m. at the Marcus Majestic. Just follow this link to Gofobo and enter the code AVCLUBMPF2 to obtain passes. Read a synopsis and watch the trailer below.
One of the world's foremost authorities on structural security agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called "The Tomb.” Deceived and wrongly imprisoned, Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built. ESCAPE PLAN is the first pairing of action legends Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in leading roles, and co-stars Jim Caviezel, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D’Onofrio and Amy Ryan.
