Back when The A.V. Club found out that John Cusack had been cast as a crime-solving Edgar Allan Poe in The Raven, we prepared ourselves for the traditional fictional liberties in the violence and romance departments. However, we had no idea those liberties would include such historically inaccurate facial hair. The goateed Cusack plays the famously-mustachioed Poe, who is recruited to get to the bottom of a series of grisly murders that bear an eerie resemblance to his stories.
