Here is everyone’s favorite variation on a “Truth” (as opposed to “Dare”): If you knew the world were going to end tomorrow, how would you spend your last 24 hours? The exciting thing about the apocalypse question for most people is the utter lack of control over the situation. All responsibilities would be relinquished. Debauchery would ensue. But can you imagine Steve Carell doing a whole lot of debauching? Not really.
Instead he will be finding camaraderie in less depraved forms in the upcoming Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, opening June 22. Carell plays Dodge, a buttoned-down insurance salesman whose wife leaves him when the news of the apocalypse hits. His neighbor, played by Keira Knightley, is a venturesome, Bohemian type fixated on her musician boyfriend. The circumstances of the situation force the two into an unlikely journey together as they try to set all things right in their worlds before the zero hour strikes.
