Joe Crockett of The Championship has emerged as one of the city’s best young folk-rock tunesmiths, penning evocative, lonely sounding songs that belie his band’s winning moniker. At this special "Songwriter Showcase" at Riverwest bar Linneman's he’ll be joined by other like-minded Milwaukee singer-songwriters, including another member of The Championship, Allen Cote, who steps away from his usual role as the band’s ace instrumentalist to share some of his big-hearted, ’70s-inspired tunes. Also joining in are two members of the excellent indie-folk band Juniper Tar, Jason Mohr and Chris DeMay.
