The Apples In Stereo and Generationals at Turner Hall Ballroom

When Robert Schneider and friends set up a studio in their Denver apartment in the early ’90s, there was no predicting that the sloppy group would evolve into one of the most influential indie bands of the decade. The Apples In Stereo faded from view after 2002’s punky Velocity Of Sound, but rebounded with new members Bill Doss (of Olivia Tremor Control) on keys and John Dufilho (of The Deathray Davies) on drums, releasing 2007’s super-catchy, ELO-esque New Magnetic Wonder on Elijah Wood’s Simian label. This year, the band released its seventh studio album, Travelers In Space And Time, the first release without Schneider’s ex-wife and founding member Hilarie Sidney—leaving Schneider as the sole remaining member of the original lineup.
