Art Vs. Craft at Harley-Davidson Museum
Since 2004, the annual Art Vs. Craft fair has put its “buy local” money where its mouth is by giving Milwaukee makers a place to sell their wares during the holiday season. The event is the brainchild of forever-busy Milwaukee artist Faythe Levine, who somehow finds time to corral the nearly 100 local vendors in between running an art gallery (Sky High) and writing a book (Sign Painters). The DIY blowout set up shop at the MSOE campus in 2011, where it drew more than 3,000 attendees. This year’s decision to move things to the Harley museum is certainly a good one, and along with a boost in attendance, could possibly lead to more leather chaps being offered alongside the usual scarves, jewelry, and Dwellephant portraits.
