When is Oasis not Oasis? When brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher splinter off and form two competing projects that sound strikingly similar to Oasis, that’s when. In the case of Liam, that group is Beady Eye, which released its debut album, Different Gear, Still Speeding, earlier this year; in the case of Noel, it’s Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. And in news that should come as a surprise to exactly no one, the two camps have been taking pot shots at each other. Well, at least Beady Eye has: In a recent interview with The Daily Telegraph, Liam Gallagher claims his brother’s High Flying Birds are okay, but have “No balls, though. No attitude. Everyone knows what Noel Gallagher can do, and it’s great, but it’s boring. I’ve heard it all before.”
