Chris Smither is a passionate, philosophical singer-songwriter who has mastered an approach to Delta blues that never seems forced, illegitimate, or condescending. Coming out of the ’60s blues revival, Smither is perhaps best known for songs he wrote for other artists, most notably Bonnie Raitt, who covered his “Love You Like A Man” and “I Feel The Same.” “What They Say,” a song from 2012’s Hundred Dollar Valentine, was prominently featured on a recent episode of Parenthood.
