Dead Man's Carnival at Miramar Theatre
You know how a lot of bands, even the really good ones, are sometimes lacking in the spectacle department? That’s definitely not a problem for Dead Man’s Carnival, a Milwaukee vaudeville group that works overtime to justify the door charge with live music, gymnastics, burlesque, juggling, clowns, fire tricks, comedy, and so-called “death-defying stunts” packed into a single, overstuffed performance. Originally known as Karnal: Ville, the Riverwest group shouldn’t even be compared to other local music acts—or other local acts of any kind, really. This New Year’s Eve performance is being dubbed as DMC’s “biggest show ever,” with a galaxy of guest stars joining the usual crew of maniacs.
