Emmylou Harris + Rodney Crowell at The Pabst Theater
With a recording career spanning decades, the poised, multi-talented Emmylou Harris is a veritable grande dame of American roots music. From her beginnings as a folk singer in Greenwich Village, to her fruitful partnership and turn toward country with Gram Parsons, to her more recent genre-defying collaborations with younger musicians such as Ryan Adams, Beck, and Conor Oberst, Harris’ voice proves lovely and her vision compelling in almost any context. More recently, Harris teamed up with singer-songwriter Rodney Crowell for this year’s long-in-the-works Old Yellow Moon. Though the two musicians have been working together since the early ’70s, Moon is their first proper collaborative album.
