Enter The Void at Jackpot Gallery
Gaspar Noé’s Enter The Void is the type of film that invites chemical enhancement. But you won’t need it—swooping throughout a DayGlo vision of Tokyo using the type of hypnotic, first-person camerawork he introduced in his 2002 provocation Irreversible, Noé creates enough of a disorienting sensation that screenings of Enter The Void could be sold as a suitable substitute for any number of hallucinogens. All the better to help block out the film’s story, concerning a brother’s vow to always protect his sister—a vow subsequently broken via a bad drug deal. In the end, Enter The Void might be another member of the cinematic class of 2010 best remembered for its visual flair (see also: Tron: Legacy).
