event Ex Fabula: Story. Stage. You.

Storytelling has gone from being an easy way to impress members of the opposite sex at parties to a full-blown performance art, thanks to traveling shows like The Moth that utilize professional raconteurs as well as regular folks picked out of the audience. The new group Ex Fabula hopes to draw on Milwaukee’s best anecdote-droppers for a series of regular events employing solo and group storytelling techniques. Other than that, it’s hard to say exactly how the group will go—this is Ex Fabula’s inaugural event, and the theme for the night is, appropriately enough, “Beginnings.” Organizers plan to pull people randomly from the audience up onstage, so have a good story prepped just in case.
