The Get Down at Turner Hall Ballroom
Now into its ninth year, The Get Down has long been one of Milwaukee’s best dance parties, with DJs Andy Noble, Brent Goodsell, and company spinning ultra-rare and uber-funky 45s from the golden age of soul music. The event is typically held at Mad Planet on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, and easily draws some of the most diverse, fun-loving, and dance-happy crowds in town. For its annual New Year’s Eve show, The Get Down crew takes over Turner Hall and cranks things up several hundred notches—last year’s gig was a packed, sweaty, and balloon-filled extravaganza. Expect the same “I was there”-type blowout this year.
