The Get Down Eighth Anniversary at Mad Planet
The Get Down has long been one of Milwaukee’s best dance parties, with DJs Andy Noble, Brent Goodsell, and Opiated Black spinning ultra-rare and uber-funky 45s from the golden age of soul music. The event is held on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, and easily draws some of the most diverse, fun-loving, and dance-happy crowds in town. Tonight, The Get Down celebrates its eighth anniversary by giving the first 100 people through the door a free CD containing favorite tracks from over the years. Think of it as a time capsule of nearly a decade spent shaking asses and giving Milwaukee a chance to get its groove on.
