Glen Hansard and The Lost Brothers at The Pabst Theater

There was a time when Glen Hansard was merely the frontman of Irish indie-folk band The Frames. That all changed, however, with the 2006 release of Once, a musical movie starring Hansard alongside Czech singer-songwriter Markéta Irglová, that propelled both stars to overnight fame. The two collaborated on a folk album, The Swell Season, and soon fell in love, in a classic example of life mirroring art. The movie, which also featured original music by Hansard, has since been adapted for the stage, winning eight Tony Awards. The movie’s fame hasn’t separated Hansard from his own musical ambitions, however. Hansard recently released his debut solo effort, Rhythm And Repose, and is out on the first solo tour of his career to promote the album.
