God's Outlaw at Frank's Power Plant
If the band name wasn’t already tip-off, the members of Milwaukee country trio God’s Outlaw are committed to a “pure” vision of old-school music rooted in the defiantly impure core ideals of whiskey-drinkin,’ ass-kickin’, and Johnny Cash worshippin.’ Formed six years ago by guitarists Brian S. Smith and Eric Bulgrin, God’s Outlaw has nearly 100 jukebox classics in its repertoire, and you can be sure that none of those songs are by Kenny Chesney or Carrie Underwood. Smith, Bulgrin, and upright bass player Steve Ramlow (who joined in 2008) are committed to dirty, stripped-down sounds played in broken-down barrooms, not the soccer mom music that passes for contemporary country.
