Guy Fieri Road Show at The Riverside Theater
If celebrity chefs can be likened to stand-up comedians, Anthony Bourdain is hipster-approved Zach Galifianakis, Rachael Ray is mainstream sweetheart Ellen DeGeneres, and Guy Fieri is dullard magnet Dane Cook. With his spiky, bleached hair, too-expensive tacky sunglasses (always worn behind his head, of course), and ridiculously manicured facial hair, Fieri is a walking encyclopedia of idiocy. But as easy as it is to mock Fieri for appearing T.G.I. Friday’s commercials and other acts of inherent jackassery, the guy is pretty benign for the most part. (At the very least, he doesn’t have Bourdain’s annoying air of superiority.) Plus, Fieri stopped by Comet Café earlier this year for Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, And Dives, so he has at least some taste.
