Milwaukee’s Head On Electric has been around since 2005, though it hasn’t always been its members’ main concern. Originally a side project of The Kind Of Jazz Music That Kills, it took the demise of that band to convince Erik Oley, Steve Deau, and Cole Juntila to devote their time soley to HOE. That’s a good thing: On 2012’s excellent Sleep Slaughter Sheep, the group runs the gamut from reverb-drenched stompers like “Beside These Parts” to Butthole Surfers-esque ditties like “Blue Tar” and “Poison Toad.” A new album, Nature Nurture Not Sure, is expected in 2013.
