The Invaders, The Socialites, and Elusive Parallelograms at Miramar Theatre
Long-running Milwaukee ska band The Invaders called it quits in the early ’00s, and its members went on to other musical projects. The death of former sax player Woody Angelos briefly brought the group back together, but it wasn’t until 2006 that The Invaders began whipping up crowds of skanking rasta-wannabes on a regular basis. Last year the group released its first album since 1996, the aptly named Where Ya Gone? The Socialites are keeping the surprisingly durable ska flame burning in Madison, drawing on the music’s past giants and young turks in equal measure. Here they team up for a special Halloween show.
