John Fogerty at The Riverside Theater
As the voice of Creedence Clearwater Revival and the writer of such simple-but-effective classics as “Bad Moon Rising,” “Proud Mary,” and “Born On The Bayou,” John Fogerty proved that he had that rare ability to speak both to and for an entire generation. Recording exactly nothing in the nine years between 1976 and 1985—in defiance of a publishing contract he despised—he’s shown he can hold his tongue when not feeling properly motivated, a fact that makes his return to the stage in recent years all the more powerful. Forgerty is currently touring behind The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again, a sequel of sorts to his 1973 solo debut, The Blue Ridge Rangers, that similarly features well-chosen covers of country music classics by Buck Owens and Ray Price as well as John Prine's "Paradise."
