Milwaukee band Kings Go Forth’s hometown popularity is due in large part to its raw and retro R&B sound, which employs funky backbeats, big horns, three-part vocals, and naturalistic, lo-fi production. The band has 10 (sometimes 11) members, including popular DJ and record-store owner Andy Noble, who also plays in De La Buena and The Chain. Here the band will celebrate the release of its eagerly awaited full-length debut, which is being put out by Talking Heads leader David Byrne’s world-music label, Luaka Bop.
