A showman in the truest sense of the word, Bobby Rush doesn’t just get up onstage and belt out some funky R&B. Instead, he incorporates humor, costume changes, and an over-the-top persona into the mix, making the evening occasionally goofy, but nearly always entertaining fun. Though he’s known for some bawdy early material, Rush will probably stick with traditional blues at the Milwaukee Blues Festival, which also features frequent B.B. King cohort Bobby “Blue” Bland, who can still work sexy lover-man standards like “Turn On Your Love Light” at the ripe old age of 80.
