Milwaukee Hot Blind Debates at Riverwest Public House

If the early 21st century has taught us anything, it’s that the seemingly frivolous pastimes of childhood can now be safely ported over to adulthood without fear of weird looks and/or wedgies. Adult kickball, dodgeball, and a host of other extracurricular activities are more popular than ever with the 30-plus crowd. So why not add a grown-up debate club to the list? Milwaukee’s new Hot Blind Debates takes that basic high school concept and adds a few interesting wrinkles (not to mention beer). Debaters are chosen at random, as are their subjects—thus the “blind” part of Hot Blind Debates. For this installment, participants will tackle subjects including the Milwaukee Police Department; the importance (or lack thereof) of voting; Fifty Shades Of Grey vs. Rachel Maddow; and Chuck Norris vs. Clint Eastwood.
