A Night In The Box, Derek Pritzl, and We Are Your Father at Frank's Power Plant
The members of Milwaukee prog-metal band We Are Your Father met at—of all places—East Side music club The Jazz Estate, where they bonded over a shared love of The Erotic Adventures Of The Static Chicken. You won't hear much jazz on its 2009 self-titled EP, but the group's brainy, vaguely funky riffs do seem to aspire to a sort-of elastic heaviness that hepcats like Miles and 'Trane had back in the day.
