The Temper Trap and The Kissaway Trail at Turner Hall Ballroom
Australia’s Temper Trap has found itself in good company as of late, rubbing elbows with The Smiths and The Black Lips on last year’s (500) Days of Summer soundtrack. “Sweet Disposition," the lead single from the group’s excellent debut album, Conditions, has led to some comparisons with Arcade Fire and Animal Collective, though the band’s epic, atmospheric sound would seem equally at home alongside U2 or Coldplay. Monday’s show at Turner Hall will find Temper Trap fresh from an appearance at South By Southwest and ready for a challenge: If the young band can successfully recreate the grandiose Conditions in a live setting, expect its days of playing such intimate venues to be numbered.
