Trey Anastasio And Classic TAB at The Pabst Theater
Trey Anastasio—singer, guitarist, and chief folklorist of legendary jam-band Phish—never really stopped making music during his band’s five-year hiatus, which ended in 2009. Just in the past couple of years, he wrote and recorded a 30-minute song cycle for electric guitar and orchestra called Time Turns Elastic, performed it at Carnegie Hall with the New York Philharmonic, and found time to jam with the likes of Phil Lesh, Robert Randolph, and Dave Matthews. But then again, performing with just one band has never been Anastasio's wont. He performs here with Classic TAB, an ace rhythm section that fits his playing like a glove—albeit a smoother, funkier glove than Phish.
