We Are Your Father, At-Latl, and Common Loon at Cactus Club
The members of Milwaukee prog-metal band We Are Your Father met—at of all places—East Side music club The Jazz Estate, where they bonded over a shared love of The Erotic Adventures Of The Static Chicken. You won't hear much jazz on its recent EP, but the group's brainy, vaguely funky riffs do seem to aspire to a sort-of elastic heaviness that hepcats like Miles and 'Trane had back in the day.
