Wishbone Ash and Tom Fuller Band at Turner Hall Ballroom

Wishbone Ash has a complicated history full of stylistic shifts, lineup changes, and internal turmoil that culminated in splitting the band into two completely separate entities in 2004. Somehow, the group made it to its 40th anniversary in 2009, and under the guidance of founding member Andy Powell, Wishbone Ash has remained a creatively prolific entity, releasing a slew of albums during the ’00s, as well as 2011’s Elegant Stealth. But fans who still turn out for the band’s shows are likely more enamored with the Ash’s early-’70s prog-boogie heyday, when the band’s twin harmonizing guitars cut straight through the bong-haze of FM radio on albums like 1972’s Argus.
