Worrier, The Fatty Acids, and Wereworm at Cactus Club
Milwaukee band Worrier sure has one foot in the crowded genre of danceable post-punk, with its prickly, hyper drums and basslines and weirdly yelped vocals, but there’s also something more delicate at work here. The band’s chirp-toned guitars, for one, help to lighten up these claustrophobic-feeling tunes with spaced-out melodies. The effect might compel folks to get up and twitch along to the beat, but also to slow down and appreciate the music’s unexpectedly inviting layers.
