Yo Gabba Gabba! Live at The Riverside Theater
It wasn’t that long ago that the epitome of popular children’s television was a man in a plush purple dinosaur outfit. But in recent years kiddie-tainment has started to look more like Yo Gabba Gabba!, a candy-colored and self-consciously hip show that’s aimed at aging hipster parents as much as their too-cool-for-school youngsters, with its mix of ’80s-style video game visuals and indie-rock musical guests like The Shins, Of Montreal, and MGMT. For this tour, Sly Stone-esque host DJ Lance Rock will be joined by Muno, Foofa, Brobee, Toodee, and Plex as well as the similarly cartoonish (but real) rapper Biz Markie, who appears regularly on Yo Gabba Gabba! to share his legendary beat-box skills.
