Unpretentious and low-key, Apollo Café might be easy to miss amid the newly minted glamour of Brady Street, but its unapologetically authentic take on Greek cuisine manages to rise above similar eateries. Once inside, it’s surprisingly spacious, and dishes such as the traditional gyros and spanikopita (spinach pie) rub shoulders with interesting variations like tuna souvlaki and panzari, a salad with red beets and onion. Vegetarians will be especially pleased, as both the menu and the daily specials have several items that cater to the non-carnivore.
