It's live-action, though—what's up with that?

New York hero Andrew W.K.—known for, among other things, extremely aggressive rock 'n' roll, motivational-speaking engagements, nightclub entrepreneurship, and record production (for Lee "Scratch" Perry, of all people)—will soon add a new feather to his bloody, battered cap: television host for the Cartoon Network. He's slated to host a new live-action show called Destroy Build Destroy, which will premiere in June and which will feature two competing teams destroying things, using those remnants to build new things, and then demolishing them again, in an attempt to win prizes.

Decider appreciates this latest brand extension, but wonders whether the show will be any good. It sounds a bit like Junkyard Wars—that build-things-from-junk competition that aired on The Learning Channel, back before TLC only aired shows about medical oddities and oversized, evangelical broods. That is a positive sign (Junkyard Wars was awesome), but how The Cartoon Network will handle a competitive reality show remains to be seen. No matter the quality, expect a promotional blitz of wheatpasted posters on construction fences across the city.
