Two over-the-top Halloween options

It’s come to our attention that Halloween is tomorrow. Since you’ll likely be relaxing at home, glass of scotch in hand, what follows may not apply to you. But for the rare few who intend to chance an evening of recklessness, we have two outrageous Halloween parties of note.
The first is Vice’s 15th anniversary celebration, a bacchanal that seems a fitting definition of excess. It’s been reported that the budget for the event is $250,000—a lot of money!—and the bands slated to appear are very 1994, in the best possible way: Bad Brains (well, mid-period Bad Brains, anyway), The Jesus Lizard, and Peanut Butter Wolf (who released his debut that year). Upstarts like Titus Andronicus (whom we recently interviewed) and Children, meanwhile, will perform “your favorite jams from ’94.” Also present: a skate park, glow sticks, and a serious open bar.
The location hasn’t been announced, but it’s likely in Williamsburg; RSVP here.
There’s another party farther south in Brooklyn, hosted by Flavorpill, that also sounds about right. It’s at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple (spooky!), The Very Best is headlining, and Stretch Armstrong—the legendary hardcore act, and an odd juxtaposition next to The Very Best’s reinterpreted African jams—is also performing. There's also an open bar, but sadly no skate ramp. Unlike Vice’s party, however, the savvy Halloween reveler can ensure his or her entry—tickets are available here for $35.
