The Bunker: Chain Reaction + Daniel Bell at Public Assembly
Chain Reaction was the label that the guys in fabled Berlin minimal-techno enterprise Basic Channel created to put out records that took their sound and ran with it (or slithered or skulked and so on). It's a storied lineage, to be sure, and it'll be represented here by the duo Scion (comprising DJ Pete and Rene Lowe). They'll be in the back room; in the front will be Daniel Bell, a minimal-techno figurehead who started out as a producer and DJ in Detroit, where techno was born amid the wreckage of a pitted urban wasteland. He made his name with sleek releases under his alias DBX, and he's been wowing people of late with live sets that sizzle.
