Say Anything, Eisley, Moneen, and Miniature Tigers at Fillmore New York At Irving Plaza

When Blink-182 released Dude Ranch in 1997, a new generation of mall-punk bands was born. Say Anything was one of these snarky Cali-bred repercussions, coming together under the manic creative direction of singer-songwriter Max Bemis in 2000. Bemis’ mental health deteriorated during the band’s early existence, forcing the group to cancel tours while the singer recovered. Say Anything’s 2007 double-disc offering, In Defense Of The Genre, was a welcome return, with snotty pop-punk tracks full of stories about girls and apologies en masse to past and present band members. Say Anything is currently touring in support of its self-titled release due out this November, which also comes in a fancy, limited-edition box set complete with Devo-esque 3-D glasses.
