Smith Westerns announce new shows for 2012, plans for next album
The notoriously young and prickly Smith Westerns may suffer from occasional foot-in-TweetDeck disease, but they’re still riding high from their terrific 2010 album, Dye It Blonde. That ride may be over soon, however, as the Westerns announced yesterday a new string of North American shows for early 2012 that will be their last before commencing work on a new album. According to a tweet from singer Cullen Omori, the dates will be the “last tour until a new album is written,” and the group will be “pulling out all the stops 4 this 1.”
Smith Westerns will be joined by Porcelain Raft and Bleached for the Dye It Blonde victory lap, which will kick of Jan. 27 with a show at the Horseshoe. [via Pitchfork]
