Christmas comes early this year for fans of The National, as the band just announced new tour dates for this coming winter. Continuing promotion of the 2010 album High Violet, the band will travel to Seattle, San Francisco, Austin, and Chicago through December before ending with a four-night stint in New York City Dec. 12-16. The new leg of the tour brings the band back to North America after appearances in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Opening acts for this bit of The National’s tour change depending on the date, but include Local Natives, Wye Oak, and Neko Case, among others. Pre-sale dates also vary from city to city, but passwords are listed on the band’s website for those who like relative exclusivity. Check out the dates below:
