Newswire The never not partying Andrew W.K. takes I Get Wet on anniversary tour

It may seem hard to believe, but it’s been more than a full decade since you began constantly partying to Andrew W.K.’s seminal record of party rock anthems, I Get Wet, which ranks among the top one albums of the last decade. But take that necktie off your head and hop down from the top of your couch and listen up—it’s been eleven whole years. Somehow. And, according to Aux, Andrew W.K. is celebrating I Get Wet’s party-proven longevity with a tour across North America and the relevant, party-hearty parts of the United Kingdom, playing the record in its entirety. The tour kicks off March 3 in Vancouver, and includes a stop at South By Southwest, and at the Phoenix in Toronto on March 27, which should prove a suitable venue for partying.

A proper decennial may seem like a more fitting time to tour in celebration of the album. But we’ll assume that Andrew W.K. was so busy partying and being super positive (and popping by The A.V. Club office to cover Christmas carols) that he boned up the math. Anyway, who cares? It’s his first headlining tour in seven years! So put every beer on ice, never change your shirt, and get ready to party like it’s 2001. Party party party party.
