Andrew Bird will play First Avenue Dec. 3
More Just Announced
For those already acquainted with Andrew Bird, that headline alone will be enough to prompt scrapping the weekend’s plans and waiting patiently outside First Avenue for tickets to go on sale. To those of you who haven’t had the chance to flip through Bird’s menagerie (ba-ZING!) of anal-retentively crafted pop tunes: Consider this your warning. You have two and a half months before he performs at everyone’s favorite danceteria on December 3. That should be plenty of time to educate yourself in the intricacies of the classically trained multi-instrumentalist’s music. Of course, we can’t make you listen to Andrew Bird, but don’t come crying to The A.V. Club on December 4 when everybody and their sister’s Twitter is ablaze with annoyingly esoteric references to a concert that you missed.
Tickets go on sale Saturday at noon, and we predict the show will sell out by about 1:30 p.m.
