Brother Ali reveals tour dates, album details
In what's shaping up to be an exceptionally good year for Twin Cities hip-hop cartel Rhymesayers Entertainment, Brother Ali is following fast on the heels of labelmates P.O.S. and Eyedea & Abilities with a new disc and extensive tour plans. Sep. 22 is the confirmed street date for his new full-length Us, which features a cameo by Public Enemy ringleader Chuck D among others (see the cover art below). It's also the day he'll kick off a two-month North American road trip that starts in Duluth and ends at First Avenue on Nov. 20. As usual, it's a family affair: Atmosphere beatmaker Ant worked the boards on Us, and the 49-city tour will feature rotating support from Rhymesayers cohorts Evidence, BK One, and Toki Wright. Fan pre-sale ticketing is now underway via artistarena.com.
