One of the more memorable, non-egg-related moments from last Sunday’s Grammys was a retro-tinged performance by hot-shit singers Bruno Mars and Janelle Monáe. As part of a North American co-headlining tour, the pair will bring their heady new-by-way-of-old-school R&B—not to mention their perfectly coiffed pompadours—to Roy Wilkins Auditorium on May 25.
Monáe has been garnering a ton of hype for well over a year now, and rightfully so—the songstress absolutely dwarfed headliners Of Montreal during a Minneapolis stop last fall. Given Mars' Grammy performance, he seems to stand a better chance of holding his own. Both artists will hold pre-sales on their websites beginning tomorrow, with tickets for the general public becoming available Feb. 26.
