Just Announced Cake, Kenny Chesney, Henry Rollins, and more

cake band

Cake recently landed its first number-one album, selling 44,000 copies of Showroom Of Compassion, the lowest haul for a chart-topper since Billboard started tracking sales through Nielsen SoundScan in 1991. Just for fun, let’s compare that to its opposite: In 2000, ’N Sync’s No Strings Attached set the record for most sales, ruling the chart with more than 2.42 million sales in its first week. Those were different times.

Speaking of the past, it seems like Kenny Chesney looked to it for inspiration when naming his new tour, Goin’ Coastal. (Hilarious and timely, Ken.) And Henry Rollins shows that he only gets better with age, celebrating his 50th birthday with a string of shows during which he’ll pass on his vast wisdom about life, music, and how to keep your neck scary-thick, even into your golden years.
