Call to artists: Design a poster for our Beaker & Brush series!
We’re teaming up with the Science Museum Of Minnesota, St. Paul Art Crawl, and Black Dog Coffee And Wine Bar to present Beaker & Brush, an ongoing series that examines where the worlds of art and science intersect by pairing up experts from both fields. March 8’s topic, Composition And Decomposition, draws parallels between how criminal forensics experts and artists view the human body, with help from forensic anthropologist Dr. Susan Myster and mixed-media artist Erica Spitzer Rasmussen. This isn’t your average lecture series: Black Dog will be offering two-for-one Summits.
But about that contest. This is an ongoing call to artists and graphic designers to create posters for individual installments of the series. If your design is chosen, we’ll run it in The Onion and give you a $100 stipend. Next up is April 12’s Music And The Brain, which examines the natural force that compels us to seek out (and sing along with) the perfect melody.
