Coldplay to return to North America, finally
More Local Newswire
Throngs of you have been white-knuckling, shifting back and forth in your seats for the past three years, wondering when—when—Coldplay will finally return to North America to woo you with some more dreamy, tinkly, piano-driven schmaltz. Well, all of you can finally back off of the ledge. The Play is coming back, touring in support of its platinum-certified record Mylo Xyloto.
The tour kicks off April 17 in Edmonton, Alberta, then loop-de-loops throughout Canada and the U.S. for a string of cozy concerts at intimate venues like the Hollywood Bowl and the Rogers Arena. The tour then takes a month-plus hiatus, resumes in late June, and then ends Aug. 11 in St. Paul, Minnesota—at which point Guy Berryman, Will Champion, Jonny Buckland, and Chris Martin will recede into the mist and drift back across the ocean to plot their next release that will sell a zillion copies for no particularly good reason. Tickets start going on sale Dec. 17, just in time to nail the perfect holiday gift for that very boring person you’re dating.
