Local Newswire Debut Howler album now streaming on NPR

Last week came an expansive feature from the U.K.’s Guardian on Minneapolis garage punks Howler, who, it will be noted in all press, are young, energetic, exciting, and reminiscent of The Strokes, at least in some capacity. Ahead of the band’s CD release this Saturday at Triple Rock, you can count on much more local, national, and international press in the week to come, as the band spent the fall touring across the pond, as they say, with The Vaccines, impressing upon the likes of them foreigners over there that they makes serious music worth directing ears to.

We published an interview with lanky lead singer Jordan Gatesmith—whom we also photographed sitting in a garbage can—in the fall, which you can read here. NPR has jumped on the Howler train as well, and is streaming the new album a week early. That can be Internetted here.
