Newswire Download the nippy new track from Atmosphere

With the announcement of an all-Minnesota tour hitting cities like Mankato, Bemidji, Duluth, and even Minneapolis this winter, the Minnesota duo Atmosphere is introducing us to “Somebody, MN.” Rapper Slug and producer Ant, who have been two of the most prolific and driving forces in the Twin Cities’ hip-hop scene over the past couple of decades, deliver this chilly track about fighting the harshest of Minnesota’s natural elements: slush, cold, and that backhanded beast passively dubbed “Minnesota Nice.” The track features kitchen-sink hip-hop act Kill The Vultures—comprising Anatomy and vocalist Crescent Moon (Alexei Moon Casselle, formerly of Roma Di Luna)—as well as brother-act Big Quarters and newcomer Mally, who are all collaborators in Feburary’s on-the-road union across the land of 10,000-plus lakes. February is an interesting time to tour the state of Minnesota, as the median temperature in places like Bemidji (that’s Northern Minnesota/basically Canada) is around 5 to 10 degrees, and snowstorms and Yeti attacks are common. But if there’s any Minnesota group capable of enduring a hearty Minnesota freezing, frosting, and mysterious-creature beating, it’s this one.
