Local Newswire Electric Six to record half of a live album at First Avenue in May

Hypersexual Detroit rock ’n’ roll group Electric Six loves First Avenue, a fact made evident by the band’s frequent appearances there and also by the band members saying it’s “[one] of our favorite venues in the world.” So, to show us just how much they love writhing around onstage at our downtown danceteria, they’re recording half of an expansive new live album there on May 11. The other half of the live album will be recorded at Chicago’s Double Door the following night. One disc of the double album, which will mix and match the best takes from each show, will contain every song from Electric Six’s first album, Fire. The other disc will comprise a mixture of hits from the band’s other seven records. So, Minneapolitans, this is your chance to immortalize yourself by cheering obnoxiously between songs. Who knows? You could be like this guy.

Tickets for the show will be available this Friday at noon. Bring your light-up genitals to the box office and receive a discount.*

*Don’t do that. You won’t really get a discount, but you might be escorted out of the venue.
