Local Newswire Get ready for Vita.mn’s Vth Anniversary party

If you, The A.V. Club’s loyal readers, turn to us for all your local media and entertainment news, then you might not be aware of some of our competition: namely, another local culture publication called Vita.mn. Are you aware of it? Just kidding, you probably are.

Well, the Strib-owned publication is turning 5 years old next month, and to celebrate, there will be a big, expensive anniversary party chock-full of art, performance, a fashion show, and live music. If the $25 ticket price is giving you sticker shock, keep in mind that the event will be headlined by legendary rock ’n’ roll band The Hold Steady. No word yet on whether the theme of this party’s the Industrial Age. Craig Finn and company will be supported by local up-and-coming groups Night Moves and No Bird Sing, with interstitial beats provided by DJ Jake Rudh. The big shindig, hosted by Epic, isn’t happening until Nov. 18, but you might want to get your tickets now before they run out.
