Har Mar Superstar joins traveling Lebowski Fest for summer tour dates

Har Mar Superstar The Big Lebowski Fest

A couple of months ago, Decider dropped advance word that Lebowski Fest—a touring celebration of all things related to the classic Coen Brothers' film The Big Lebowski—would be making its way to the Twin Cities this summer. While there's still no definitive word on a nearby date or venue, it has been formally announced that Minnesota's own Har Mar Superstar will be appearing live at select dates on the west coast leg of the Fest's upcoming Speed Of Sound tour.

No doubt, it's an inspired pairing on par with, say, vodka and Kahlua. But what does the paunchy king of indie R&B have to do with Lebowski? Festival organizers have the answer: "Har Mar has opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, whose bassist, Flea, played a Nihilist in the film. So Mr. Superstar's Lebowski lineage is well established. Furthermore, we figure if there's ever a ransom that needs to be paid along the way, we'll have plenty of dirty undies around to fill out our Ringer."

Fair enough. Now, about that Minneapolis date...[ominous stare]...?!
